W dniu 25 kwietnia 2022 r. zostały wprowadzone do obiegu znaczki pocztowe o wartości 3,60 zł emisji “Psy”. Znaczki wydrukowano techniką offsetową + raster stochastyczny, na papierze fluorescencyjnym, w formacie znaczka 31,25 x 43 mm, format bloku: 121 x 125 mm, w nakładzie w wersji perforowanej: 135 000 szt. każdego znaczka, nakład w wersji nieperforowanej: 6 000 szt. każdego znaczka. Blok zawiera 6 znaczków.

W dniu 27 kwietnia 2022 r. zostały wprowadzone do obiegu znaczki pocztowe o wartości 3,60 zł emisji “Ptaki polskich parków”. Znaczki wydrukowano techniką offsetową , na papierze fluorescencyjnym, w formacie znaczka 51 x 39,50 mm, w nakładzie 120.000 sztuk każdego. Arkusz zawiera 8 znaczków. W grafice arkusza przedstawiono cztery najczęściej występujące w polskich parkach ptaki – kowalika, wróbla, bogatkę i modraszkę. Każdy ze znaczków jest powtórzony dwukrotnie (układ 4×2). W grafice kopert FDC przedstawiono dwa z tych ptaków w szerszym kadrze, podczas kąpieli i żerowania. W grafice datownika przedstawiono schematycznie gałązkę owocującego krzewu – naturalne pożywienie ptaków. Z tej okazji zostały wydane 2 koperty FDC. Autorem wszystkich zdjęć użytych w projekcie jest Pan Maciej Zdziarski. Konsultacje merytoryczne zostały przeprowadzone z Panem dr. Andrzejem Kruszewiczem.

W dniu 30 kwietnia 2022 został wprowadzony do obiegu znaczek pocztowy o wartości 3,60 zł emisji “Święta Gianna Beretta Molla”. Na znaczku zaprezentowano portret Świętej Gianny Emanueli Molla. Gianna Beretta Molla urodziła się 4 października 1922 roku w Magneta, w Lombardii. Była 10 dzieckiem gorliwych chrześcijańskich rodziców, którzy jako świeccy należeli do III Zakonu św. Franciszka z Asyżu. Joanna, gdy wyszła za mąż i była w ciąży z 4. dzieckiem, lekarz odkrył, że ma guza – włókniaka. By ratować jej życie lekarze musieliby usunąć macicę i rozwijające się w niej życie. Joanna (miała 39 lat), stanowczo oświadczyła, że leczeniem siebie zajmie się po urodzeniu dziecka. Była chirurgiem i pediatrą, zatem zdawała sobie sprawę, że tylko jedno życie jest możliwe do uratowania. Do ostatnich swoich dni towarzyszyła trójce małych dzieci i mężowi z wielką pogodą ducha. Wybrała życie dziecka. Wkrótce po urodzeniu dziecka umarła. Obecnie jest patronką matek przeżywających trudności w czasie oczekiwania na urodzenie dziecka. Gianna Beretta Molla została ogłoszona bł. 24 kwietnia 1994 roku. 16 maja 2004 roku Jan Paweł II ogłosił ją świętą. Co roku w Kościele dnia 28 kwietnia jest dniem wspomnienia o Świętej.
Znaczek wydrukowano techniką rotograwiurową, na papierze fluorescencyjnym, format znaczka: 39,5 x 31,25 mm, w nakładzie 100.000 szt. Arkusz sprzedażny zawiera 50 znaczków. Projekt powstał w ścisłej współpracy z Panią Krystyną Zając Prezesem Fundacji SOS Rodzinie im. św. Gianny Beretty Molli (wnioskodawcy i przyjaciela rodziny) i zyskał akceptację córki Świętej Gianny Emanueli Molla. Z tej okazji została wydana również koperta FDC.

Biblioteka Polska POSK w Londynie – jedna z większych bibliotek polskich poza krajem, została założona w 1942 roku. Specjalizuje się w zbieraniu publikacji emigracyjnych. Księgozbiór stanowią wydawnictwa emigracyjne i krajowe o profilu humanistycznym, polonika, conradiana, rękopisy, archiwa osób prywatnych oraz instytucji i organizacji emigracyjnych, czasopisma emigracyjne i krajowe, biuletyny i komunikaty organizacji emigracyjnych, wydawnictwa ,,drugiego obiegu”, mapy, nuty, fotografie, obrazy i rysunki. Biblioteka zbiera także dokumenty życia społecznego emigracji (zaproszenia, jednodniówki, programy imprez, katalogi wystaw, plakaty i in.).
Emisja realizowana przy wsparciu merytorycznym Biblioteki Polskiej POSK w Londynie. Wnioskodawcą było Ministerstwo Spraw Zagranicznych. Na znaczku pocztowym – grafik przedstawił książki oraz w tle wieżę Big Ben w Londynie. Na kopercie FDC widzimy akwarelę sali Josepha Conrada, która znajduje się w Bibliotece POSK w Londynie. Leon Biegeleisen (1885–1944) był polskim ekonomistą i nauczycielem akademickim oraz oficerem Wojska Polskiego. Studiował w Berlinie, Wiedniu oraz we Lwowie. W czasie I wojny światowej współpracował z Naczelnym Komitetem Narodowym. Po zakończeniu wojny wykładał politykę gospodarczą i ekonomię na Wolnej Wszechnicy Polskiej. Nie przeżył II wojny światowej, niemniej data i okoliczności jego śmierci nie są pewne. Zainteresowania Biegeleisena koncentrowały się głównie wokół zagadnień związanych ze spółdzielczością, administracją oraz gospodarką komunalną. Publikował także prace dotyczące kwestii agrarnych. Jego koncepcja polityki rolnej opierała się na konieczności utrzymania dużej liczby małych, rodzinnych gospodarstw, które byłyby w stanie działać efektywniej niż duże podmioty. W przypadku produkcji przemysłowej opowiadał się jednak za aktywną polityką państwa, postulując wprowadzenie regulacji dotyczących zarówno cen, jak i skali wytwórczej.
Jego stanowisko nie odbiegało zasadniczo od poglądów zwolenników gospodarki planowej i było zbliżone do koncepcji socjalistycznych. Czerpał z dokonań szkoły historycznej, przeciwstawiając się koncepcji homo oeconomicus. Zjawiska ekonomiczne postrzegał w kontekście całości życia społecznego. Był zwolennikiem stopniowych prospołecznych reform. Wysunął przypuszczenie, że zarówno publiczne, jak i prywatne przedsiębiorstwa mogą działać równie efektywnie. Jego opus magnum Wstęp do nauki ekonomii społecznej obejmuje wiedzę z zakresu teorii poznania i metodologii nauk oraz stanowi próbę stworzenia modeli ekonomicznych. Wśród najważniejszych dokonań Biegeleisena warto wymienić następujące prace: Teoria małej i wielkiej własności, Polityka gospodarcza Italii, Polityka gospodarczo-aprowizacyjna miast polskich oraz dwutomowy Wstęp do nauki ekonomii społecznej. Narodowy Bank Polski is the central bank of the State, responsible for its monetary policy and price stability. The Bank’s functions are described in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland and the Act on NBP. NBP holds the exclusive right to issue the currency of the Republic of Poland. As the central bank, it does not provide accounts for the general public, accept deposits from or extend loans to individuals. It acts as a banker to the State budget and public sector entities. NBP also holds and manages the foreign exchange reserves of the State. Finally, it functions as a banker to banks, creating conditions for the operation of the Polish banking system. Narodowy Bank Polski is one of the most important research and analytical centres in the fields of economics and financial markets.
Issuing collector items is an occasion to commemorate important historic figures and anniversaries, as well as to develop the interest of the public in Polish culture, science, and tradition. On 5 May 2022, Narodowy Bank Polski issued into circulation a silver coin of the series “The Great Polish Economists” – Leon Biegeleisen, with a face value of 10 złoty.

The obverse features a quotation from the work Wstęp do nauki ekonomii społecznej, Volume I, Teoria relatywizmu gospodarczego [The Theory of Economic Relativism].
Leon Biegeleisen (1885-1944) was a Polish economist and academic teacher and officer of the Polish Army. He studied in Berlin, Vienna, and Lviv. During World War I, he collaborated with the Supreme National Committee (Naczelny Komitet Narodowy). After the war, he delivered lectures on economic policy and economics at the Free Polish University (Wolna Wszechnica Polska). He did not survive the Second World War, nevertheless, the date and circumstances of his death are unclear. Biegeleisen’s interests focused mainly on issues related to cooperatives, administration, and municipal economy. He also published works on agricultural issues. His concept of agricultural policy was based on the need to retain a large number of small family farms, which were able to operate more efficiently than large entities. In the case of industrial production, however, he supported an active state policy, advocating the introduction of regulations concerning both prices and the scale of manufacturing.
His position did not differ fundamentally from the views of the promoters of the planned economy and was close to socialist concepts. He drew on the achievements of the historical school while opposing the concept of homo oeconomicus. He perceived economic phenomena in the context of overall social life. He was a supporter of gradual social reforms. He put forward the assumption that both public and private enterprises could operate equally efficiently. His magnum opus, Wstęp do nauki ekonomii społecznej [Introduction to the Science of Social Economics] integrates the knowledge of the theory of cognition and the methodology of science and is an attempt to develop economic models. Among Biegeleisen’s major achievements, the following works are worth mentioning: Teoria małej i wielkiej własności [Theory of Small and Large Property], Polityka gospodarcza Italii [Economic Policy of Italy], Polityka gospodarczo-aprowizacyjna miast polskich [Economic and Supply Policy of Polish Cities] and the two-volume Wstęp do nauki ekonomii społecznej [Introduction to the Science of Social Economics]. Jan Stanisław Lewiński (1885–1930) był ekonomistą i wykładowcą akademickim. W dzieciństwie wyjechał z Polski. Nauki pobierał w Antwerpii, Londynie, Berlinie oraz Brukseli. Podczas I wojny światowej pracował w jednym z instytutów przy Uniwersytecie Kolońskim. W czasach II Rzeczypospolitej wykładał na Katolickim Uniwersytecie Lubelskim oraz w Wyższej Szkole Handlowej (późniejszej Szkole Głównej Handlowej). Publikował nie tylko w języku ojczystym, lecz także po niemiecku i angielsku. Zginął w tragicznym wypadku w Wilnie. Zainteresowania naukowe Lewińskiego były bardzo szerokie. Swoje prace poświęcał w szczególności kwestiom teoretycznym, dziejom gospodarczym oraz historii myśli ekonomicznej. W tej dziedzinie najbardziej cenił dokonania fizjokratów oraz dzieła ekonomii klasycznej.
Autor Zasad ekonomii politycznej usiłował łączyć koncepcje różnych szkół ekonomicznych. Wskazywał na konieczność uwzględnienia zarówno czynników teoretycznych, jak i aspektów empirycznych w analizie poszczególnych zagadnień gospodarczych. Z tego względu spór pomiędzy szkołą historyczną a klasyczną postrzegał jako jałowy. Zakładał, że wszelkie założenia aprioryczne muszą zostać skonfrontowane z obserwacją rzeczywistości, gdyż jednostronne spojrzenie stanowi poważny błąd metodologiczny. Lewiński rozumiał ekonomię jako naukę wyrażającą zasadę gospodarności, w której istnieją – jak w naukach przyrodniczych – pewne stałe i niezmienne zasady. Realizacja głównego celu społecznego leży w podziale i wymianie bogactw uzyskanych dzięki procesowi efektywnej produkcji. On 5 May 2022, Narodowy Bank Polski issued into circulation a silver coin of the series “The Great Polish Economists” – Jan Stanisław Lewiński, with a face value of 10 złoty.

Jan Stanisław Lewiński (1885-1930) was an economist and university lecturer. He left Poland as a child. He studied in Antwerp, London, Berlin, and Brussels. During World War I, he worked at one of the institutes at Cologne University. In the times of the Second Polish Republic, he was a lecturer at the Catholic University of Lublin and the Higher School of Commerce (later: SGH Warsaw School of Economics). He published not only in his native language but also in German and English. He died in a tragic accident in Vilnius. Lewiński’s scientific interests were very broad. His works focused on theoretical issues, economic history, and the history of economic thought. In this field, he appreciated the most the achievements of the physiocrats and classical economics.
The author of Zasady ekonomii politycznej [Principles of Political Economy] tried to integrate the concepts of different economic schools. He indicated the need to take into account both theoretical factors and empirical aspects in the analysis of individual economic issues. For this reason, he perceived the dispute between the historical school and the classical school as barren. He assumed that all a priori assumptions must be confronted with the observation of reality since a one-sided view would constitute a serious methodological error. Lewiński considered economics as a science expressing the principle of economy, where certain fixed and unchangeable principles exist – as in the natural sciences. The accomplishment of the main social objective depends on the distribution and exchange of wealth obtained through the process of efficient production. This booklet of 10 PermanentTM domestic rate stamps helps raise awareness about the ability to “give life” through organ and tissue donation. The stamps feature an illustration by Christopher DeLorenzo with the text “Give Life” – a slogan used by Canadian Blood Services, an organization that facilitates the process of organ and tissue donation through Canada’s provinces and territories. In the centre of each stamp are two figures forming the shape of a heart. They’re joined by outstretched hands holding glowing stars. This represents the connection between donors and recipients. Within the heart are abstract representations of life: flowers in bloom, a droplet of water, the warmth of the sun, and a bird in flight.

2022 … Eid: PermanentTM domestic rate stamps

Celebrate Eid al-Fitr (Festival of Breaking the Fast) and Eid al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice) with this booklet of 6 PermanentTM domestic rate stamps. The stamp features an illustration of an illuminated Eid lantern embellished with pierced designs, which cast patterns of colourful light. Illustrator Richard Nalli-Petta used a montage of photographs and illustrations to create layers of texture and colour. The lighting of lanterns is a common practice during Eid celebrations.
This is Canada Post’s fourth Eid stamp. The others were issued in 2017, 2020, and 2021. The Eid issue is one of several annual issues that mark events of importance to Canada’s culturally diverse population. Celebrated by more than a million Muslims in Canada, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are two of the most important religious holidays in Islam. Eid al-Fitr begins in early May this year and signals the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. A nostalgic look back! It was 10 years ago, in 2012, that the last Canadian penny was struck at our Winnipeg facility. Until that moment, the copper-plated cent was everywhere: it jingled in the pockets and purses of Canadians for generations filled countless coin jars and its maple leaf twig design was a part of our everyday lives. Now, a decade later, its iconic design has been given a new life and a modern twist on this 5 oz. fine silver tribute, which has been enhanced with reverse gold plating to add a precious gleam.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS … The Engraver: Ryan Poser, Engraver … One of the challenges we faced with this coin’s super-incuse relief was the master tooling. With a standard design, we can polish the field with ease, as the relief is cut in the negative; in this case, we had to work around the incuse elements of the design, which required a bit more dexterity and focus. But with a bit of ingenuity and some elbow grease, we were able to take this iconic design to a whole other level!
The Engineer: Yannick Cormier, Senior Research Engineer … Using the knowledge gained by developing EHR (Extraordinarily High Relief) technology, we were able to go from a standard incuse depth of 0.3 mm to an unprecedented 1.5 mm on this coin. EHR adds extreme height while Super Incuse adds extreme depth, but it’s a similar principle – we just inverted it. Still, we faced a lot of new challenges: there was the manufacturing of a reverse die that included the raised feature; concerns over friction between the blank and the dies (something you don’t have to worry about with EHR); and material movement is much more complex. Fortunately, Virtual Minting is a great engineering tool that helped us understand how to design the blank in order to create this coin.

And by adopting a new approach, we were still able to achieve the flawless impression you see here with just three strikes, even if it is significantly deeper than standard incuse.
