Issue date: 25-01-2026 … The sheet consists of 12 postage stamps arranged in a tête-bêche layout, designed in the characteristic style of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) – full of vibrant colors, energy and dynamic patterns. The project was created in close cooperation with the WOŚP Foundation and refers to the theme of the 34th Grand Finale, which will take place on January 25, 2026, and is dedicated to: “Healthy tummies of our children” — supporting the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in the youngest patients. The stamp features a multicolored DNA strand reflecting the slogan placed in the bottom margin of the sheet: A my? Pomaganie mamy w genach! (“Helping is in our genes!”). In the lower right corner of the stamp appears the logo of the 34th WOŚP Finale along with the inscription: “A MY? ROBIMY SWOJE” (“And us? We’re doing our thing”) — a motto referring to the continuous activity of the Orchestra and its consistent support for Polish healthcare.

Issue date: 06-02-2026 … The stamp features dynamic silhouettes of winter sport athletes representing speed skating, alpine skiing and biathlon. The composition is kept in a modern, energetic style that reflects movement, speed and the intensity of winter disciplines. The visual composition is based on photographic materials from a photo session carried out by Szymon Sikora / the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOl). The photos present members of the Polish Olympic Team for the Milan–Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games: Kaja Ziomek‑Nogal (speed skating), Maryna Gąsienica‑Daniel (alpine skiing) and Konrad Badacz (biathlon). Stanisław Konarski (właściwie Hieronim Franciszek Konarski; w zakonie pijarów przybrał imię zakonne Stanisław od św. Wawrzyńca) był wybitnym pisarzem, pedagogiem i działaczem społecznym. W 1740 r. utworzył słynne później Collegium Nobilium w Warszawie oraz przeprowadził reformę szkół pijarskich. Był bliskim współpracownikiem króla Stanisława Augusta od jego wstąpienia na tron w 1764 r. Jako jeden z pierwszych został obdarowany królewskim złotym medalem z sentencją Sapere auso („Odważył się być mądrym”), a w podzięce za medal zadedykował królowi swój wiersz. Stanisław Konarski należał do obozu reform. W rozlicznych pismach politycznych, polemikach, tłumaczeniach, a także utworach poetyckich i dramatach głosił potrzebę nowoczesnej edukacji, zaangażowania w sprawy społeczne i polityczne (zwłaszcza potępiał liberum veto), odnowy moralności w duchu chrześcijańskim.
Na awersie medalu, tożsamym z rewersem monety kolekcjonerskiej, łaciński napis wokół popiersia Konarskiego (w piusce na głowie, w zakonnym habicie) głosi (w tłumaczeniu): „Stanisław Konarski, starodawnych szkół pijarskich w Polsce i Litwie przełożony prowincjał”. Księgi pokazane na rewersie medalu, przyozdobione wieńcem dębowym, to najszerzej znane dzieła Konarskiego: O poprawie wad wymowy (pierwsze wydanie łacińskie – 1741 r.) i O skutecznym rad sposobie, albo o utrzymywaniu ordynaryjnych sejmów (wydane w czterech tomach w latach 1760–1763). Widnieje tam też, oprócz sentencji Sapere auso, ujęty skrótowo łaciński napis „Stanisław August król 1765”. Data 1765 jest niewłaściwa, gdyż wtedy jeszcze mennica w Warszawie nie była w pełni uruchomiona. Antoni Schroeder, administrator mennicy, podawał, że medal wybito dopiero w 1771 r., w złocie o wadze 18 dukatów (ok. 60 g) dla Stanisława Konarskiego, oraz w srebrze i brązie. Narodowy Bank Polski is the central bank of the State, responsible for its monetary policy and price stability. The Bank’s functions are described in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland and the Act on NBP. NBP holds the exclusive right to issue the currency of the Republic of Poland. As the central bank, it does not provide accounts for the general public, accept deposits from or extend loans to individuals. It acts as a banker to the State budget and public sector entities. NBP also holds and manages the foreign exchange reserves of the State. Finally, it functions as a banker to banks, creating conditions for the operation of the Polish banking system. Narodowy Bank Polski is one of the most important research and analytical centres in the fields of economics and financial markets.
Issuing collector items is an occasion to commemorate important historic figures and anniversaries, as well as to develop the interest of the public in Polish culture, science and tradition. On 12 January 2026, Narodowy Bank Polski issued into circulation a silver coin of the series “Treasures of the Medal Making Art” – “Stanisław Konarski”, with a face value of 50 złoty.

Stanisław Konarski (born Hieronim Franciszek Konarski; in the Piarist order he took the monastic name Stanisław of St. Lawrence) was an outstanding writer, educator and social activist. In 1740, he established the later famous Collegium Nobilium in Warsaw and carried out a reform of Piarist schools. He was a close associate of King Stanisław August from the moment he ascended the throne in 1764. Konarski was one of the first to be awarded the royal gold medal with the inscription Sapere auso (“Dare to know”), and in gratitude for the medal, he dedicated his poem to the king. Stanisław Konarski belonged to the reform camp.
In numerous political writings, polemics, translations, as well as poetic works and dramas, he proclaimed the need for modern education, involvement in social and political affairs (he particularly condemned the liberum veto), and moral renewal in the Christian spirit. On the obverse side of the medal, identical to the reverse side of the collector coin, there is a Latin inscription around Konarski’s bust (wearing a zucchetto and a monastic habit) reading (in translation): “Stanisław Konarski, the provincial superior of the ancient Piarist schools in Poland and Lithuania”.
The books depicted on the reverse of the medal, decorated with an oak wreath, are Konarski’s most widely known works: “On the Improvement of Rhetoric Defects” (first Latin edition – 1741) and “On the Means of Effective Counsels” (published in four volumes between 1760 and 1763). In addition to the Sapere auso motto, there is also the abbreviated Latin inscription: “King Stanisław August, 1765”. The date 1765 is incorrect, as the mint in Warsaw was not in full operation at that time. Antoni Schroeder, the mint’s administrator, reported that the medal was only minted in 1771, in gold, with a weight of 18 ducats (approx. 60 g) for Stanisław Konarski, and in silver and bronze. About the design … Inspired by the raw energy of early hip-hop, these stamps evoke the genre’s DIY spirit with an assembled aesthetic that reflects the era. The titles are crafted using varied type sizes, echoing the rhythmic nature of hip-hop’s sound and culture while creating a bold visual identity. Printed with fluorescent inks that glow under black light, metallic silver and black duotone portraits, and layered matte and gloss varnishes, these stamps evoke the bold, nostalgic aesthetics of the ’80s and ’90s. Hip-Hop in Canada (2026) – Maestro Fresh Wes … Maestro Fresh Wes (b. Wesley Williams, 1968, in Scarborough, Ontario) was the first Canadian MC to break into the mainstream, cementing his legacy as the godfather of Canadian hip-hop. His 1989 debut, Symphony in Effect, made history – its hit single “Let Your Backbone Slide” became the first Canadian rap song to go gold and be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. The album went platinum, making Maestro the first Canadian hip-hop artist to achieve this milestone. In 1991, the JUNO Awards introduced a new category, Best Rap Recording, with Symphony in Effect taking the inaugural win. Over his career, Maestro released nine studio albums and became an author, actor and motivational speaker. In 2024, he was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement, and was awarded an honorary doctorate from St. Francis Xavier University for his longtime community engagement.

Hip-Hop in Canada (2026) – Michie Mee … Canada’s first hip-hop superstar, Michie Mee (b. Michelle McCullock, 1970) exploded onto the scene in the late 1980s. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in Toronto, Ontario, the iconic MC was among the first to bring Jamaican patois into her rhymes. In 1987, she released her debut single “Elements of Style.” It was an instant hit that captivated fans in Canada and abroad. A year later, Michie Mee signed with a major U.S. label, making her the first Canadian MC to achieve that milestone. Shortly after, she appeared in Queen Latifah’s “Ladies First” video alongside some of the greatest female rappers of the era. In 1991, she released her first album, Jamaican Funk – Canadian Style, which combined rap with dancehall and reggae. Over her decades-long music career, Michie Mee has continued to push boundaries. Notably, in the 1990s, she joined Raggadeath, a band known for fusing heavy metal and reggae; and on her 2020 album Bahdgyal’s Revenge, she reflects openly about the challenges she has faced as a single mother and female rap artist. To many, Michie Mee is known as the godmother of Canadian rap.

Hip-Hop in Canada (2026) – Muzion … Hailing from Montréal, Muzion brought an original and distinct sound to the world of hip-hop. The group was formed in 1996 by MCs J.Kyll (Jenny Salgado), Imposs (Stanley Salgado) and Dramatik (Jocelyn Bruno) who were all born to Haitian immigrant parents. Their music expressed the joys and struggles of their city’s Haitian diaspora over a sound influenced by East Coast hip-hop, rap from France and soul. The trio’s approach to language was unparalleled by other artists. Known for bold and powerful lyrics, they composed rhymes from three languages, layering in French, English and Haitian Creole, which – thanks in part to their music – was entering Montréal’s urban slang. Muzion released two critically acclaimed albums: Mentalité moune morne… (Ils n’ont pas compris) (1999) and J’rêvolutionne (2002). Both received multiple honours, including Félix Awards for Hip-Hop Album of the Year. They are best known for their song “La vi ti nèg,” which won a 2004 Canadian Urban Music Award. Muzion’s influence stretched beyond music and into the wider culture. They helped empower marginalized communities to see themselves as integral to the fabric of Quebec and Canada.

Daphne Odjig (1919-2016) was not only one of the most celebrated artists active in Canada in the 20th century, but a pathbreaking advocate for Indigenous art and culture. The larger diameter (38 mm) allows for the inclusion of additional elements from her original work Folk Singer, such as the powerful bird figure not seen on the $2 coin, while selective colour pays homage to Odjig’s bold colour palette and spellbinding art style. DID YOU KNOW? … Born on Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory, Odjig was known both for her highly stylized monumental representations of major themes in First Nations culture and history, and tender renderings of love, family, and community. Accented by flowing lines and curving contours learned from her stone-carver grandfather, her vividly original style remains unique.
The reverse design is adapted from Folk Singer, by acclaimed First Nations artist Daphne Odjig (1919-2016), whose signature is reproduced on the right. The depiction shows a bird figure wrapping its large, engraved wings around the selectively coloured female figure, who is holding a drum. More than just an eye-catching garden adornment, the sundial is humanity’s oldest known timekeeping device—one that functions just as well today as it did in ancient times. An elaborate and functional showcase of craftsmanship, this limited collectible adds a working sundial to your coin collection. Its embellishment is a gold-plated brass gnomon that, when placed in view of the sun and in the direction of true north, casts an angled shadow onto the elaborately engraved gold-plated 99.99% pure silver base to indicate local solar time.

DID YOU KNOW? … One of the oldest sundials in Canada is located across the street from our Ottawa facility, at the corner of Bruyère Street and Sussex Drive, where a matching pair of vertical sundials built in 1851 served as Ottawa’s first public timepieces.
A functional sundial for mid-northern latitudes, your coin’s timekeeping reverse was designed by Canadian artist Anna Bucciarelli. Serving as the base, the reverse is ornamented with acanthus leaves and edged with Roman numerals indicating the hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. At the bottom, a stylized sunflower—a heliotropic flower and a beloved symbol of the sun—supports the gnomon, which harnesses the power of sunlight and casts the measured shadow that helps determine the time of day. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.

Louis-Remi Labelle, 3D Artist – Engraver … “The artist was very generous with her artwork and included variations of shading that helped me interpret the volumes and heights I needed to create. I could clearly discern which elements were raised and which ones were lower, and that’s important because ultimately, I had to build in enough height to ensure the details would survive the process—sculpting is one thing, but when creating the tooling, there’s always a bit of a loss factor. This design is a very intricate one, with lots of elements that required either stronger or lighter frostings, or a combination of both, to strike the right balance in terms of visual contrast – for example, the foliage in the centre is one type of frosting, and the background is another, so you can truly differentiate between the layers. And whenever an embellishment is involved, a lot of discussions take place between the engraver and the product engineer – we’re always working in tandem to ensure the different parts of the design fit properly so that they’ll come together beautifully and seamlessly, as seen here.”
